We design from the materials out.
A residential interior-design studio composing homes in Los Angeles & the canyons.
Studio Lune was founded in 2012 by Maren Lune after a decade between an architecture practice and a fabric house — the two disciplines that still shape how we work. We design from the materials out: a hand of plaster, the grain of a board, the weight of a brass pull. Thirteen years on, we are a small studio of designers, a project manager, and a deep bench of makers and trades, composing roughly a dozen homes a year across Los Angeles and the canyons.
A house with a long memory
We don’t chase the reveal-show moment. We build homes that feel collected rather than bought — rooms full of things that only get better with use. A hand of lime plaster. The grain of a rift-sawn board. The weight of an unlacquered brass pull that will tarnish to bronze. One refined accent — oxblood, olive, or terracotta — running like a thread through the whole house.
One studio, every thread
From the first walk-through to the final styling, the studio holds the work end to end: drawings, custom furniture and millwork, sourcing, the makers and trades, the install. You get a single point of judgement and a single point of accountability — and a home that lands on time and intact.
We work full-service and on renovations across greater LA, and run a remote e-design practice that has no geography. Start a project →
